Nestled between two mountians, a valley sat. It wasn't a lush land for the rocky soil made it hard for things to grow here. But those who strived to live dug their roots into the ground and grew, claiming this land as their's. Animals moved in after the plants grew, munching through them and drinking from the furious river that raced through the wide valley. Wind whipped through here, causing a herd of deer to throw up their heads, sniffing the wind nervously. Perched on one of the rocky cliffs that surrounded this land, a bull elk cried a warning before bounding down the rocky slope into the underbrush and trees, still bulging his warning. A dark shadow swooped overhead, causing the deer herd to panick and split up. A roar raced through the air as a red Dragoness landed ontop of a young buck, a loud crunch emitting from him. He screamed in terror and the scream was cut off with a bubbling noise as she snapped his neck.
Lacry looked around her, sniffing the air. No one but deer and other animals. She gave a curling smile, looking around some more. A perfect place, especially for a fiercesom Dragoness like her. Lifting herself up, Lacry gave a trumpeting roar, claiming this land for her own. Her call echoed down the rocky valley walls. While she ate her meal, she still looked around. I have my work cut out for me here, she muttered into the buck's bloody gut. Ach, oh well. Better to have a rocky, cave and stone filled land than a desert or some exposed place. Once the buck was reduced to a pile of chewed bones, Lacry perched herself on a large boulder that was well placed in a open, rocky space of land, big enough for a gathering of dragons. She focused her plant working powers and began to shape her home, one leaf at a time.
